How will Seattle residents celebrate Valentine’s Day with our pets?

With Valentine’s Day fast approaching, no matter how infamously difficult dating in Seattle is – there’s no doubt who our first loves are.

Seattle residents, famous lovers of our four-legged friends, have a good chance of celebrating the holiday of love with our furry companions.

According to the National Retail Federation’s most recent forecast, Americans will spend $23.9 billion on Valentine’s Day — up from $21.8 billion in 2021 — with just under $1.2 billion just for their pets.

How will our best friends be gifted? According to dog food company Wild Earth, 37% of pet owners nationwide will purchase a special Valentine’s Day gift for their pet. 31% will prepare a special meal for their pet, 26% will dress their pet for the occasion and 20% will have a photo shoot with their pet to capture love.

“Much of the growth in Valentine’s Day spending over the past decade has been fueled by consumers’ interest in celebrating the other important relationships in their lives – friends, co-workers and, increasingly, loved ones. pets,” according to NRF.
