GADAP: A mysterious and gruesome attack on Tuesday night on farm animals about 50 kilometers northwest of Karachi stoked fear among the city’s residents, leaving them frightened and seeking help.
The unknown wild creature attacked animals on a Gadap farm in the dark of night, killing at least five goats.
A major panic gripped the area surrounding the farm which was attacked, with residents claiming that new housing projects have sprung up around Gadap, as well as the 136 km highway between Karachi and Hyderabad – the M highway. -9 – affected wildlife habitat.
According to locals, the wild animal managed to kill all five goats in Goth Gajan Baloch – an hour’s drive from Karachi – in one night.
After being alerted by Geographic news, the Sindh Wildlife Department dispatched a team to investigate the incident.
Sindh Wildlife Department raid team leader Azeem Khan Achlo said Geographic news that the “footprints appeared to be that of a wild cat,” who could perhaps come down from the mountains around Gadap to hunt.
A team would now monitor the area, Achlo said, adding that since the feral cat might attack animals out of hunger, the meat would be kept in the mountains for their consumption.
